[ the food offered to them is interesting, to the point that kim soleum isn't sure he wants to indulge. waking up in a strange place isn't unfamiliar to him, and he understands that he needs to be cautious not to make any mistakes. that's why when offered a fruit, he only stares at it and contemplates tucking it away for later. the problem is that he'd need privacy to do that, and he doubts bringing attention to his wrist would mean any good.
that's why he should focus on something else, like a game or two.
so when a game is presented to him that two people are paired away and put into a dark, miniature, very small, one person shed and the rules? all they have to do is stay in there the longest and wait for other participants to leave. whoever exits too early with a pair still inside, they lose, but the last pair to exit will win a fixed amount of fruit. it doesn't sound like a bad gamble, but soleum has no reason to participate... he hardly wants to eat them as is.
the desire to pass by is strong in this one, but when a vendor grabs ahold of him, and he's too confused to take his arm back... he's pushed into the dark.
however this darkness works, he's not even going to question is, and it's with a tired sigh that he brings one hand to the roof of... the small space he's been pushed into to find that the roof is way too low, and he's contemplating that this... has to be an outhouse of some kind. why else is it so small? for one person? ]
Sure... I only have to wait it out.
[ and when he sits, he really doesn't expect this, he doesn't expect someone there which makes him freeze up. a shiver rolls down his spine, and rather than jumping up and hitting his head to make himself look like an idiot, he remains there. he doesn't move. don't make it awkward. don't make it awkward. ]
[ Dokja offers a small correction because acting nonchalant is definitely safer than acknowledging that someone—presumably a man—is sitting in his lap. To think that Dokja entered this outhouse of his own volition... the scenario mindset caught up to him. He's been sitting in the darkness long enough to think of how unfair the entire set up is—not all participants are even in the same room, so there's no telling if they're the last pair or not.
Not to mention that it took a while before he got assigned a pair in the first place. Shouldn't they be put in the outhouse at the same time? Well, it's too late for protests. The fruits might not be worth all this effort, but at the same time, sitting in complete darkness comes with certain advantages. The silence is nice too, however, since he's not alone anymore, that perk is gone. ]
Are you comfortable like this?
[ Dokja isn't, but his hunch is telling him that trying to adjust their positions might yield disastrous results... ]
3.1 wildcardish
